Obituary for Astrid Kiendler-Scharr

We are sad to announce that the Atmospheric Chemistry and Physics community has lost a highly valued member: Prof Astrid Kiendler-Scharr passed away in February 2023. Astrid was a passionate supporter and advocate of open-access publishing and was a member of the ACP editorial board for 12 years. Astrid will be greatly missed as a friend, colleague, leader, and mentor of others. She brought forward new ideas and had a vision for challenging the status quo of publishing in the field of atmospheric chemistry and, in particular, aerosol science. Our sincere condolences go to Astrid's colleagues, friends, and family.
